Rocky Branch Mountain Music

About Us

Rocky Branch Community Club, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the musical heritage of Appalachia. Originally built as a small schoolhouse, the Rocky Branch building became a community center in 1996 and is now home to Rocky Branch Mountain Music. The venue welcomes visitors, tourists, musicians, and filmmakers from around the world who come to experience its unique local character.

Our popular Friday Night Jams begin at 6:00 p.m. every Friday and continue until the last person leaves. The former school building comes alive with genuine bluegrass, old-time gospel, country, Appalachian, and mountain music. Pickers, grinners, and singers from miles around gather for an evening of music, fellowship, and good times.

Visiting musicians are always welcome. Jam sessions are informal and are limited to acoustic instruments.

Rocky Branch also occasionally hosts amplified stage performances in the old gymnasium. These special events are normally held on Saturdays and are scheduled in advance, with a variety of groups invited to perform.

Admission to Rocky Branch is by donation at the door. These donations help us pay our monthly expenses, maintain the building, make necessary repairs, and keep this special place open for the community.
