Once a small schoolhouse, the Rocky Branch building became a community center in 1996.
It now serves as the home for Rocky Branch Mountain Music. Every Friday night, dozens of musicians and even more fans congregate to keep mountain music alive.
Types of music played at Rocky Branch vary from country to bluegrass to gospel. What they all have in common is that they are played in the “Old Time” style. Musicians and audience members alike share a passion for preserving mountain music.
Every room of this old schoolhouse is dedicated to a type of music or a group of pickers and grinners. Genres of music include gospel, bluegrass, country, and fiddle. The music is all played in a jam style where musicians are welcome to join in and move from room to room.
